The stretch-yoga combo origin
Does any body else need routine to function? Well, hard yes over here. I have a pretty good case of the scatter brains and it took me a WHILE to recognize and learn how beneficial structure can really be.
I grew up on Vancouver Island where I used to be a loyal Bikram yogini. This is where I started to flourish. Bikram is a hot yoga class. A newer class concept based in a heated room with 26 consecutive postures for 90 mins (is the standard time).
Moving to the Okanagan has opened my eyes in so many life aspects. Including my activity levels. I’ve always been a go-go-go kinda gal. But, I never realized how much on the Island I really revolved my life around my Bikram practice.I lived downtown Victoria where the ease of going to a class down the block vs. the inconvenience to get out for a real hike made me take up a membership. Which basically fuelled an obsession to get my moneys worth.... worth it? Money wasn’t the only aspect. The mental toll it took to plan, organize, constantly schedule, work life, family, the extra laundry and your actual job around. Once I felt the mental difference of my change in the move. THAT was worth it.
Now that my regular daily and weekly activities have grown, my inner need for movement and stretch has become less strenuous. Keeping to a combined stretch and yoga combo routine has been my ulti-fav since! This is what my current full floor series looks like. Of course I try to play and add in a few cuties here and there. My whole love in it is the growth in it! So, if you would like to try, I would encourage you to play with it ,too!
