Happy Full Floor Series

When you have the time & energy to shake it all out on the floor.

Full Floor Series

I’m such a creature of habit! I neeeeeeed structure and order or my brain will scramble whatever task is at hand to being too overwhelming. Probably not my most prized feature about myself but that’s okay! I have learned to grow and adapt- but most of all- accept!
I don’t recall ever finding a routine that worked for me and stuck until I found Bikram yoga over a decade ago. I was stoked to find a an actual exercise that brought my head space to such peace (or so I thought). Since then I was hooked. Although I have always let it be apart of my life, there has been several times where it’s probably taken over my life more than it should’ve. But, then I finally decided that THAT was something I could take control of- my own control.
have you ever noticed something that could use a little change or even a little tweak? Have you ever noticed how sometimes that can easily just become a thought that floats just as easily away. Not intentionally, of course. Well, (haha) when that thought struck- it struck hard! I wanted to take action! But in the oddest way, I didn’t know how. I knew why Bikram worked for me. The good and the bad. The good part was the practice itself. It is made of 26 consecutive postures- it has an actual structure which I need. The bad was the mental and physical pressure. I felt Pressure to be present in attendance as often as I could, which ended up being 3-5 times a week. I felt pressure to complete my entire practice each class (may I remind you that Bikram is hot yoga, so this is a task!). I also felt the pressure in my practice to be constantly pushing to improve. Again, it worked for me. But, ultimately the bad outweighed the good for me. It’s negatives were breaking me and I was exhausted.
developing these “series” has taken patience and time. Learning to find my own time to be present. Learning to practice solo (is that weird? Haha but I never realized that prior I have always been with friends or a class). Figuring out which moves my body likes. What flows together. Which benefits I want, like and am getting. Breaking them down from the floor to standing.

taking the time to really listen to your body is so key! It wasn’t until I’ve taken this time to do what I needed for me to feel truly satisfied and positively accomplished in what I am practicing.

I hope you can take what you need from that and even in these series :)

positive vibes, lovies 💜✨
