What happened to Social Distancing?
BC has started reopening and social distancing habits are fading...
Did we just stop caring?
The safety reminder signs are everywhere but people everywhere are still getting pretty social with it. It’s a tough reality that goes with it. Businesses are in a once-in-a lifetime kind of jam and locals are wanting to break out of quarantine and support. Above, is a picture taken last Sunday June 7th downtown Kelowna. The crowds were from the streets to the beach and close in contact despite what cautions were around them.
Below is a picture of the crowds starting at Kal Beach on Kalamalka Lake in the late morning last weekend. This is an Okanagan favourite- a very popular beach. By the afternoon, finding parking and beach space is usually pretty silly- but even during this time people are making it happen.

Please don’t be Socially Ignorant
Ooookay, so- to each their own. But is even saying that too much to ask? The point of this is not to judge or to hate on those who “don’t believe” in social distancing. The point of this was to hopefully spread some awareness that social distancing is still a thing, and for those who DO still care- it still matters! We all want to be out and about. It’s becoming summer fast but social distancing measures are still in effect. Please don’t ruin it for those who just want to be more cautious, especially during this time. If you are getting some groceries, follow the safety guides lines. If your hitting up some trails, walk around other groups and smile. Let’s start making some positive social moves to beat this together.
